Obvisously its been way to long for a post- but we couldn't resist spreading the word about our dearest Crafty Friend Amy Chasan and her AMAZING NYC Bakery Sweet Generation she is opening. Her bakery Sweet Generation is creating award-winning sweets that remove barriers between children and art.
Sweet Generation has donated over $15,000 in cash and in-kind donations to arts organizations in New York and New England, sponsored Arts events with thousands of baked goods, and launched an internship program that teaches at-risk youth job and entrepreneurial skills in our creative business.
After a couple years of baking out of her home kitchen and then a small shared commercial bakery space, Amy has begun negotiating on a storefront bakery space in Manhattan, with a vision of building a community, showcasing youth artists and giving young people hands-on learning experiences in a creative environment.
This new space will help Sweet Generation reach new customers, increase our donations to Arts education programs, and accept more young people into their internship program.
We are asking for your help to #BakeItHappen!
They just launched an Indiegogo campaign for $25,000 to raise the remaining funds needed to build out the space and open their doors in November. Here’s how you can help:
Visit the page, watch their video, and learn about how they are improving opportunities in the Arts for children and youth.
