ahhhh, the typical new england winter question. power’s-out-what-do-we-do? well, we put our super crafty minds together and found a way to beat the winter-storm-power’s-out-blues. who doesn’t love gooey marshmallows and crispy rice mix together in perfect little squares? to make these, however, you are going to need a bit more ingenuity than on a typical day. and a woodstove might help too. this is true yankee craftiness at it’s best and now we have a CHALLENGE for you! leave a comment here or on our facebook page with something crafty you did during this new england storm when your power was out. and to the very best idea, we will send a YCB prize that is sure to please and help keep you toasty warm.

what you’ll need: (sorry if the photos are a bit blurry, the power was out!)
woodstove
lantern
6 cups crispy rice cereal
10 oz bag of marshmallows
3 T butter or margarine
stainless steel pan
cooking spray
baking pan
spatula
here comes the best part! place your stainless steel pan on top of the woodstove and melt 3 T butter or margarine. add in the bag of mallows and melt.



remove from heat, mix in 6 cups of crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.


spoon cereal into baking pan that is coated with cooking spray. use a greased spatula to press into place.


let cool, cut, and enjoy!
